House of games by Dombon-a-tanya

The three-storied object is hold together by the games inside. The games are partly made of wood (domino, mikado, dice and the pencils), others are made of paper (cards, board games and the booklets).

Dombon-a-tanya - recreate well known objects in a contemporary way. They  unite the knowledge of craftsman generations and the modern and clear-out way of thinking and design.

Check out their Box couture project (we fell in love!) and their e-shop.

Rocking thing by Marcin Bahrij

We love this contemporary version of rocking horse, made of solid block of cork. Though the object has a animalistic character, it is not a portrayal of any particular animal – hence the name – rocking thing. It lives a scope for own interpretation for a child. Wooden handles can be freely interpreted as horns, eyes or antennas .

Cork used in the project is made of recycled wine corks. It is an unusual type of cork, durable and resistant to crumbling.

Woody craft

Traditional wood puzzle of six interlocking pieces, with a trick that must be discovered in order to separate the puzzle and put it back together. Fun. Beautiful. Simple.

Playing with cards and blocks

The 36  wooden building blocks and 26  illustrated ABC flash cards, introduce curious and creative kids to the fundamentals of architecture and design, with each letter referencing a particular concept or idea; A is for Arch, D is for Dome, M is for Material, W is for Wallpaper.

Combining the wooden blocks and flash cards encourages imagination and children’s desire to build their own cities, towers or space stations - developing both learning and creativity.

A-Z flash cards & wooden blocks,  Hungry Little Minds.

CAWANA, shoes to be wild

Cawana is a new brand based in Barcelona that designs children shoes. They are conceived for children to play with them and develop their imagination.

Cawana is an ally of the wilder side of children. They need their space to experiment, to jump, to fall, to fly … nothing better than comfortable, colorist and very very resistant shoes. Furthermore, Cawana always uses materials that respect the environment and animals.

We also are in love with Cat Johnston’s illustrations for this company. Good choise!

Cawana’ shoes  will be available from April. More information here and here.
