Children’s room inspiration
What do you think about this black and white kids room? It is paired with warm wood tones and a vintage chalckboard. And of course, we can’t forget the polka dot wall.

Caracool Playground

The project that we present today is dated 2008 but we discovered it recently and we have thought is worth sharing.
Caracool Playground by Joel Escalona is designed to be a amusing slide. We are sure that the children will have fun gliding and playing in it!
See more Joel Escalona’s works on his website.
Slowers

Slowers produces nice and practical kids espadrilles (and for adult ones too). The espadrilles are made by a family business located in a small town in Spain, where they are hand sewn. The raw materials are certified organic cotton and jute.
We like the velcro closure for the children’s models: perfect to run (and dance, play or jump) and keep the shoe!
Kinetic creatures: walking cardboard animal kits

Kinetic Creatures are a set of three walking cardboard animal sculptures.
The Creatures, Elly the Elephant, Rory the Rhino, and Geno the Giraffe, are each made up of cardboard pieces that you assemble using tabs-and-slots. By turning the wire handle, you make the creatures come alive with a simple mechanical motion. Also they can walk with mechanical and electrical additions, such as Lego motors or Motor Kit.
Kinetic Creatures is a collaboration between Lucas Ainsworth, an Industrial designer and Alyssa Hamel, a Visual Arts Teacher and artist.

Which do you prefer?
Miguel Tanco: El rey de los animales
Once upon a time, the King of the Animals, a Illustrator and… the savannah.
These three elements are in El rey de los animales, a children’s book written and illustrated by Miguel Tanco. With masterful use of colors and shapes and a large doses of humor Tanco creates a fun fable about the power and the responsibility that comes. This book is a nice way to meet the Tanco’s work (more on his web).
The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles has selected to Miguel Tanco, with El rey de los animales, for Illustration West 51 exhibition. A well-deserved recognition for a great illustrator.

Pico Pao (2): raw materials for experimentation
Pico Pao is a workshop with a long history of craftsmanship that began in 1979 in Lubián, a small Spanish village in the mountains on the border with Portugal. First, they made wooden replicas of old-fashioned toys, along with reproductions of the cameras used by the first street photographers and copies of traditional, pre-industrial looms.
Later their attention was increasingly concentrating to a collection of old-fashioned toys and games both European and African origin (see Juegos de la Antiguedad collection).
Currently Pico Pao is focusing its activity on designing original games. These ones, which belong to the collection Ludus Ludi, are notable for their lack of rules; they can be seen more as exquisite raw materials for poetic experimentation and for the stimulation of abstract thought.
Ludus Ludi are games to develop the creativity, there are games for adults, also for kids just to enjoy building beautiful structures.
You can find their games and know more about their story on their website, full of little treasures.
